KUCHING: There is an adequate supply of medical gases if the need for it arises.
Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian who revealed this, said the assurance was given by Linde Malaysia during his visit to their medical and industrial gases manufacturing and distribution facility in Bintawa recently.
“Linde also has several other medical and industrial gases manufacturing facilities spread across Malaysia.
“Was made to understand that with their infrastructure and preparedness, this provides an assurance that we would have adequate supply of medical gases, if the need arises,” he said in a Facebook post on Friday.
Dr Sim said the company and its team have demonstrated their capabilities and preparedness to service medical gases requirement of Sarawak and in particular, during this Covid-19 pandemic period.
The Batu Kawa assemblyman said the company has two liquid medical oxygen production facilities located in Samajaya and Bintulu.
“It also has multiple gaseous medical gases cylinder filling and distribution facilities located in Sarawak, namely in Bintawa, Miri and Sibu,” he said.
He said Linde not only has manufacturing facilities throughout Sarawak but also has a well-established distribution fleet comprising cryogenic mobile tanks and trucks to supply medical and industrial gases.
“This is along with having competent people skilled in safe production and distribution of these gases,” Dr Sim said.
