SIBU: The Ketua Kaum or community leaders (KMKK) and Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) courses are good in ensuring grassroots leaders understand their responsibilities.

“We are aware that the role of KMKK and JKKK is not easy. This is why the state government through the district office and the resident’s office are trying to implement such courses,” Daro assemblyman Shafiee Ahmad said.

“This is to ensure that the community leaders who have been entrusted can perform their duties well,” he told the media at the closing of N43 Daro KMKK and JKKK course on Thursday (July 7).

“The grassroots leaders are important to help the government, especially in its efforts to develop the state.

“The government has set the objective to become a high-income state by 2030, and this needs to start from the grassroots level.”

He also noted that the close cooperation between the government and leaders at the grassroots level would ensure that the goal is achieved.
