SIMUNJAN: The state government will ensure that rural transformation projects (RTPs) get completed within the specified period.

Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris said that every representative of the people needs to ensure that all such projects in their respective constituencies are implemented on schedule.

According to Awla, there are several RTP projects in Simunjan which are facing delays due to problems with contractors, resulting in the late completion of the project.

“I visited the RTP site to upgrade the ruai of Rumah Panjang in Kampung Ensengei Iban, Simunjan.

“The project worth RM348,856.33 is a project under RTP back in 2019 that was resumed when the previous contractor failed to complete the project according to the proper work scope,” he was quoted as saying in Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) news report during the site visit on Tuesday (Sept 20).

He then called on all contractors involved to carry out their work accordingly and to be on schedule.
