BINTULU: The Community Welfare Department (JKM) here has distributed a two-week supply of dry food to 24 heads of household of Eloh Jugah longhouse in Kampung Banyai Sungai Segan, Jalan Ulu Segan here.

The food assistance is expected to last the affected residents until the end of the enhanced movement control order (Emco) for the longhouse.

The authorities have imposed Emco on the residents of Eloh longhouse following the detection of positive Covid-19 infections.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) Bintulu had carried out active case detection at the longhouse and the surrounding areas on Tuesday.

Bintulu police had thus far mounted 24-hour surveillance of movement at the longhouse.

The round-the-clock surveillance will continue until all Covid-19 screening test results on the second and 10th day of the longhouse population come out negative.
