KOTA SAMARAHAN: Samarahan introduced a football team today under the Muara Tuang constituency, called the Samarahan Eagles.
Its advisor and patron, Datuk Idris Buang said the establishment of the football team is a contribution to the development of football especially amongst the youth in Kota Samarahan.
The Muara Tuang assemblyman added that he hoped that through the newly set up football team, more talents will emerge and compete at a higher level.
When contacted by CATS FM yesterday, he said he hoped that the Samarahan Eagles football team would erupt a football spirit among the youth and young people of Samarahan.
He further explained that several strategies to develop football are currently taking place including collaborations with the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) and the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) together with pro-tem committee members will make player selections for the Samarahan Eagles.
The Samarahan Eagles squad will be led by its coach Ahmad Nurfaizal Patrick Abdullah and Hazwan Hussain who is appointed as chairman of Samarahan Eagles.
