KUCHING: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) wants to step up cooperation with the Sarawak government to safeguard the welfare of people in the state.

According to the statement by UKAS, this is one of several matters discussed when EPF Chief Executive Officer Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan and his delegation paid a courtesy visit to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on yesterday (Apr 4).

“We made this courtesy visit to explain the role of the EPF, the issues faced by the EPF and how we can work together to help the people of Sarawak to increase their savings for their future.

“This is an important issue because we want to safeguard the well-being of the people by increasing and improving financial understanding,” he said.

Also present during the visit was State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
