Epid Week 29 sees increase in coronavirus cases

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 437 Covid-19 cases and three deaths in Epidemiological (Epid) Week 29.

The cases in Epid Week 28 were 367, with Epid Week 29 seeing an increase of 70 cases.

Three deaths were recorded in Kuching, Miri and Sibu while two deaths were recorded last week.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee’s weekly report released on Monday (July 25), 432 cases were Category 1 and 2 while five cases were Category 3, 4 and 5.

Kuching remained the district with the most number of cases at 143, followed by Miri (112), Sibu (49), Bintulu (43) and Samarahan (25).

Sarikei reported new cases with 13, followed by Limbang (nine), and Bau, Mukah, Lawas, Sri Aman, Selangau and Saratok with three cases.

Other districts reported two cases each – Serian, Simunjan, Matu, Lubok Antu, Subis, Julau and Tebedu, while Kanowit, Betong, Pakan, Daro and Song reported one case each.
