KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching recently contributed essential items to frontliners who are on duty at an area here which has been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).

The non-governmental organisation on Monday (May 3) said the contribution was handed over to Thong Wai Hong, a representative of the Civil Defence Force (APM), on Saturday (May 1).

“The frontliners, which consist of personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police, APM, People’s Volunteer Corps and the Social Welfare Department, are stationed at Kampung Sagah. The village, which has 214 households, was placed under EMCO from May 1 to 14.

“Even though it was a public holiday (May 1), we responded immediately to contribute in a small way given the fact that some of the frontliners are fasting while on duty,” Hope Place said.

Among the items given were drinking water, biscuits, instant cup noodles, coffee, Milo, medical face masks and hand sanitisers.

Hope Place also expressed its gratitude towards the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC) Kuching Chapter for sponsoring the hand sanitisers.
