MIRI: A premise on the second floor of a shophouse at Riverview Park, Jalan Lutong Baru, was engulfed in flames last night (Dec 16), resulting in its complete destruction.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident that took place around 7.15pm.
Upon receiving an emergency call, firemen from Lutong and Lopeng stations were dispatched to the scene, about 9km away.
Despite their prompt arrival, the flames had already caused 100 per cent damages to the affected premise.
They managed bring the fire under control at 7.34pm and prevented its spread to other premises.
After ensuring that the situation was safe and there is no reignition at the scene, the team concluded the operation at 8.39pm.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.
