LIMBANG: An elderly couple was left homeless after their house in Kampung Pandan, was razed to the ground in an evening fire last Wednesday (July 20).
A spokesman from the Sarawak Fire Department operations centre said the unfortunate incident happened around 7.05pm.
Following that, firemen from Limbang station, Sarawak Energy Berhad (SESCO) personnel as well as Kabima auxiliary firemen, were promptly despatched to the scene, Bomba said in a statement today.
Upon arriving, the team confirmed that the double-storey house was already destroyed and they carried out extinguishing deed immediately.
No injuries were reported as the tenants managed to get out to safety.
It was reported that the lower floor of the house was turned into a grocery store.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
