MIRI: The distribution of food aid during the movement control order (MCO) in constituencies within the northern region is being closely monitored to ensure every household receive the aid.

“Constituencies held by oppositions are no exception, as we deliver the food aid to all during this challenging times regardless of the recipients’ political inclination,” said Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau.

Dennis revealed that a total of 4,419 food baskets have been delivered to households in Telang Usan and Tinjar to date, including constituents residing in Miri.

“I have received 700 new requests for food aid during this MCO and hopefully my team can deliver them before April 28,” he told New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.

Meanwhile, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting, who is also Piasau assemblyman and several volunteers have been making the rounds within his constituency including Pujut, to deliver food aid to the residents.

“We have been doing this since the first phase of the MCO until now to help those affected following the outbreak of Covid-19.
