Ex-Sri Aman MP joins Parti Bangsa Malaysia

KUCHING: Former Sri Aman MP Datuk Masir Kujat has applied to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM).

This was revealed by the party president Datuk Larry Sng in his Facebook posting, today (Feb 12).

“Datuk Masir Kujat and several Dayak professionals have applied to join PBM.

“He (Masir) was also appointed secretary-general of the party at our first Supreme Council meeting this year,” the posting said.

According to Sng, several other appointments were made and the restructuring of several state committees have been completed and reassured that PBM is moving forward.

Previously, the Julau MP had suggested that smaller parties and supporters of the unity government like PBM, Muda, KDN and independent friendly MPs to discuss about working together as a bloc in order to remain relevant.

For the record, Masir was a member of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), a component party of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in 2018-2019. He then left PRS to join Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) in 2019-2022.

In 2022, he announced his withdrawal from PSB and become Independent.

In the 15th general election (GE15), Masir contested as an Independent candidate and lost the seat to Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodie of GPS who secured 14,131 votes while the former obtained 5,673 votes.
