KUCHING: Former students of SMK St Thomas here presented contributions to two recipients yesterday.

The first recipient was 22-year old chronic asthma patient Nurfahanah Aini Hasbi from Kampung Matang Lot.

The second recipient was a single father raising three children in a rented room in a house in Taman Puteri.

One of the recipient’s children is a disabled person (OKU).

The group’s move was a continuation from their success in organising the distribution of bubur lambuk during Ramadan.

The programme was not just to provide assistance, but to also get a deeper understanding of the recipients’ hardships.

Programme coordinator Ashdy Narawi said the donation was the first to be held in an effort to share sustenance with those in need.

“We organised a fund raiser where we collected money from former students of SMK St Thomas who were sincere to help,” he said yesterday.

Ashdy said the programme aimed to attract and encourage more former students to fulfill their social responsibility to help those in need.
