KOTA SAMARAHAN: Students have been urged to grab the opportunities available to improve their knowledge and excel in their studies.
Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) deputy chairman Hamzah Ibrahim gave the advice when officiating at the Back to School programme organised by Dewan Usahawan Bumiputera Sarawak (DUBS).
“Be a student that your family can be proud of and one who is confident of his or her own abilities, especially in education,” he added during the programme yesterday.
About 160 less fortunate students comprising children of Uptown DUBS Kota Samarahan entrepreneurs received their school equipment and necessities.
Besides that, the students from primary and secondary schools were also offered free haircuts in preparation for next year’s school session.
Children from Kampung Baru, Kampung Pinang, Kampung Rembus, Kampung Tanjung Bundong and Kampung Sindang received school necessities and equipment.
