MIRI: Zone 6 Fire and Rescue Department chief Supt Law Poh Kiong headed the list of 51 recipients of Excellence Service Award (APC) from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman yesterday (July 10).
Besides Law, three other fire stations chiefs, namely Marudi Fire and Rescue Station chief Maureen Sim Ah Lian; Lopeng Fire Station chief Terry Robson Forance and Miri Fire Station chief Mohamad Hamdani Madon also received the awards.
“The event marked the first time in Sarawak and Malaysia as well, when four fire chiefs received the APC award at the same time,” said Khirudin.
He reminded recipients of the award to always set a good example for their peers apart from being an amazing role model.
“There is no magic in achievement. It comes only through hard work and persistence in your job,” he said.
Also present was the State Fire and Rescue assistant director PgKB I Tiong Ling Hii.
