KUCHING: All civil servants and businessmen entering Sarawak from Malaya, Sabah and Labuan via Kuching International Airport will no longer have to wear a wristband or be quarantined.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said visitors will be exempted from undergoing quarantine but they are still required to have their samples taken for swab tests.

“Upon entry, the civil servants and businessmen must show their QR Code exemption via enterSarawak or bring along a letter of Arahan Rasmi Bertugas (Official Duty Instruction) and need to fill in the e-HDF (Health Declaration Form),” it said in a statement yesterday.

SDMC further stated that for civil servants and businessmen who frequently commute from the Peninsula, Sabah or Labuan to Sarawak and vice versa, they will be sampled once in two weeks.

For official business not exceeding two days, there is no need to take a sample.

For civil servants and businessmen returning for holiday, they will be quarantined at home or hotel and need to be sampled.

The same applies for admission through Sibu, Bintulu and Miri Airports whereby civil servants and businessmen must also show the QR Code exemption through enterSarawak or bring along a letter of Arahan Rasmi Bertugas and must fill out the e-HDF.

“They will not be equipped with a wristband and will not be quarantined. However, they need to take a sample of Covid-19 the next day at a nearby health clinic,” it added.

For official business not exceeding two days, there is no need to take a sample.

In another development, SDMC also revealed that the Unit for Other Religion (Unifor) under the Chief Minister’s Department has presented the standard operating procedure (SOP) guidelines for the Hungry Ghost Festival in Sarawak which will take place beginning Sept 2.
