KUCHING: The Sarawak government has agreed in principle to expand the One Stop Early Intervention Centre (OSEIC) in several other parts of Sarawak in the future.

The matter was informed by the Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah who said that the motion was presented in the state Cabinet meeting on yesterday.

“In principle, the Sarawak government has agreed to expand OSEIC services in several areas such as Miri, Kapit, Tatau, Samarahan, Betong, Lawas and Dalat within five years.

“It is done so that children with special needs outside Kuching can also enjoy the opportunity to be given the necessary diagnosis, early assessment and intervention, so that they can move on to the next level of education,” she said.

Fatimah said this while speaking at the OSEIC graduation ceremony at Imperial Hotel, today.

In addition, OSEIC services in rural area will kick start at Dalat Welfare Complex (KKD) in March this year.
