State Budget 2021

MIRI: The State Budget 2021, to be tabled next month by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at the State Legislative Assembly sitting, is expected to be a people-centric budget.

“It will be a continuation of the previous Budget and focus will be given to various sectors to help them with post-Covid-19 recovery. The people’s wellbeing will also be emphasised,” predicted Assistant Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew today.

Ting, who is also Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) secretary-general, was met today after attending Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Lutong’s environmental programme held at the Piasau Nature Reserve here.

He was asked about what he expected from the State Budget 2021.

“The state government has been implementing more people-centric projects to ensure no one is left behind.

“We hope to hear more good news from the coming Budget,” added Ting.
