Reciting the poem titled ‘Keberanian’ (bravery in English) during the Malam Bahasa Jiwa Bangsa programme at Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka (DBP) building here on Thursday night, he reiterated the value of ensuring one’s future by seeking knowledge.

“This is a first for me – to recite poetry here at this very hall,” he said before proceeding to recite the poem with vigour to the applause of members of the audience.

The programme was attended by a crowd of over 200 people featuring poetry recitations as well as dance performances.

Also reciting their poems on that night were DBP director general Dr Hazami Jahari; national laureate Datuk Siti Zainon Ismail as well as Sarawak laureates Datuk Dr Adi Badiozaman and Jong Chian Lai.
