KUCHING: Petronas subsidiaries in Bintulu donated hand sanitisers, face masks and liquid hand soap to some 4,700 secondary school students and teachers in and around Bintulu.
The donations bring Petronas’ total contribution to Covid-19 efforts to more than RM38.8 million to date.
“We hope this gesture will help to keep students and teachers safe from Covid-19 following the reopening of schools here,” managing director and chief executive officer of Petronas LNG 9 Sdn Bhd and Malaysia LNG Group of Companies, Mohamed Syazwan Abdullah @ Laga Jenggi said in a statement on Monday (July 13).
Among the schools that benefitted were SMK Asyakirin, SMK Bandar, SMK Baru, SMK Bintulu, SMK Kemena, SMK Kidurong, SMK Sebauh, SMK Tatau and Bintulu Vocational College. Petronas’ subsidiaries in Bintulu namely Asean Bintulu Fertilizer Sdn Bhd, Petronas LNG 9 Sdn Bhd, Malaysia LNG Group of Companies and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd-Sarawak Gas, collaborated to support this effort.
