
KUCHING: Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof clocked in at 8.30 am to begin his official duties at the ministry in Putrajaya,today (Dec 5).
“I attended the first meeting with the ministry’s top officials. Thanks to the ministry’s deputy secretary-general Mad Zaidi Mohd Karil who gave a briefing on the ministry.
“In the first meeting, I also reminded them of the importance of the role of civil servants in helping to improve the country’s commodities sector, as well as to bridge the development gap between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.
“Since the economic crisis is expected next year and will be a challenge for the country, I stress that the ministry plays an important role and contributes greatly to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP),” he said in a Facebook post.
Later in a separate post, Fadillah, who is also a deputy prime minister, said he attended a special Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Datuk
Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Perdana Putra at 10am.
