KUCHING: There are rumours that the 15th general election (GE15) will be held this year, said federal Senior Minister (Works) Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
“Either way, those are just rumours and I do not know when is the exact date of the
election.
“However, at the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) level, we are not only working on the election, but also keep serving the people.
“We will always be ready for what comes next. With that, we stick to our motto, which is to serve the people and the country,” he told the media after attending the Stakan Service Centre’s appreciation night here on Sunday.
When asked about the readiness of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) in facing GE15, Fadillah, who is GPS chief whip, responded that the party is always ready.
“We are ready at any time because we are always on the field to give the best to the people, the state and the country.”
On his thoughts about retaining his Petra Jaya parliamentary seat, he said this is the prerogative of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
