
KUCHING: A local man sustained injuries after he fell into a 3.6-metre-deep monsoon drain along Jalan Gersik, Petra Jaya today.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a distressed call around 8am pertaining to the incident.
Following the call, firemen from Petra Jaya station were promptly despatched to the scene to rescue the victim.
Upon arrival at the scene, the team managed to lift the 29-year-old victim out of the drain using a basket stretcher.
The victim who suffered injuries to his waist and legs, was later taken to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further treatment.
