KUCHING: A group of 16 people from the local media and travel agencies attended a briefing by Jahar Gultom, the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, here.
The group has been invited to go on a 5-day Familiarisation Trip (Fam Trip) to Yogyakarta, Indonesia, from 17 to 21 March.
The trip is aimed at promoting Yogyakarta as a tourists and holiday destination to Sarawakians besides giving information about Yogyakarta and its people, its culture and tradition.
The trip is organised by the Consulate General of The Republic of Indonesia in Kuching and supported by the Department of Tourism of Yogyakarta Province and Express Airlines Indonesia, as the official carrier for this Fam Trip.
The all-expenses-paid Fam Trip will take the group on guided visits to some of the famous tourists’ attractions such as Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, Palace of Sultan of Yogyakarta, Water Castle, Malioboro Street and many more.
They will have the opportunity to sample the delicious and authentic Yogyakarta food and drinks, such as Ayam Opor, Nasi kucing, Gudeg Yogya, Es Dawet, Wedang Jahe and es teler besides exploring and getting to know more about the life and traditional custom of native Jawa people in Yogyakarta.
Jahar hoped that they have an exciting and pleasant experience in Yogyakarta and that they share it with their fellow-Sarawakians.
