MIRI: A family from a longhouse in Jalan Sebatok, Niah, had a shocking surprise early Today (Nov 28).
They found a cobra underneath the water tank at the back of their house.
One of the family members quickly called the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) for help, and they waited outside of the house until firefighters arrived at about 8.22am.
According to Miri Bomba acting chief Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee, they received a distress call at about 8.15am.
A team from Niah arrived at the longhouse and were taken to the spot where the deadly snake was spotted earlier.
The team managed to capture the reptile in less than 10 minutes. It was later released into the wild.
