Fast-food outlet suffers damage in early morning blaze

BETONG: A fire broke out in a fast-food outlet early this morning but fortunately, no one was injured.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a distress call regarding the blaze at around 4.05am.

Firefighters rushed to the outlet situated in Saratok and reported that “the fire occurred in the storage area of the outlet, housed in a shophouse, and sustained about 20 per cent damage.”

“No one was injured in the incident and the fire was put out within an hour. The operation ended at around 4.50am,” added Bomba.
