Fatimah calls on Chief Minister

KUCHING: The Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development, Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building here yesterday.

She told Johari that the Ministry had prepared 8,000 packets of traditional cakes to be distributed to security personnel who would not be returning home to their families during Hari Raya due to the call of duties.

“The cake distribution is a gesture of goodwill and in recognition of their sacrifices in the service of the nation during the festive occasion,” added Fatimah.

Members of the delegation included the Assistant Minister of Women, Family and Children’s Development, Rosey binti Haji Yunus and Sarawak’s Women’s Welfare Department Director, Noriah Ahmad.

Later, the Chief Minister also received a courtesy call from the Chairperson of Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), Datuk Hajjah Raziah binti Mahmud, who was accompanied by BCCK CEO, Eric Van Piggelen.
