KUCHING: The Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah has received her second and final dose of Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine at Stadium Perpaduan, Petra Jaya today.

She had her first dose taken on Feb 27, and the second dose was administered after 21 days later as recommended by the health authorities.

After receiving the second dose, Fatimah said the whole process went smoothly.

“It started with scanning my temperature followed by my registration via MySejahtera mobile application, and then the health officers went through my previous health record before administering the vaccine.

“After the vaccination itself which was almost painless, I was observed for 15 minutes. Everything was over in 35 minutes,” she said.

The Dalat assemblywoman added that since getting the first dose of the vaccine, she did not experience any major side effects, but just the usual and temporary slight muscle pain at the jab area after the vaccination.

Also getting their second doses were Urban Development and Natural Resources Assistant Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh, Infrastructure and Ports Development Assistant Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring), Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, and Semop assemblyman Abdullah Saidol.

In Bau, both Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep and Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh also completed their vaccinations.

Sarawak’s first phase of the Covid-19 vaccine immunisation programme began on Feb 26.
