DALAT: Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah today (April 5) handed out her tithe to the asnaf (tithe recipients) here.
She handed over the donation personally to 207 individuals from 14 villages in this district, while 57 others from Kampung Sungai Kut Tengah and Kampung Sungai Kut Muara received theirs from a representative Saini Jamblee.
Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, said last month, 195 individuals from eight villages in Oya sub-district near here received the tithe contribution.
Giving out zakat (tithe) to asnaf is part of the religious obligations of Muslims during the month of Ramadan.
