Fatimah proud Susan appointed as senator

KUCHING: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Women’s Wing is proud on the appointment of its member, Susan Chemerai Anding as a senator.

PBB Women chief Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah also took the opportunity to congratulate Rita Sarinah Patrick Insol of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) who will join Susan to be sworn-in as senators in the Dewan Negara on Monday (June 22).

“We are indeed happy to note that when one of the senators is our PBB Supreme Council member, and we want to congratulate her and Rita on their appointment,” she said in a press conference after chairing the PBB Women Supreme Council meeting at its headquarters yesterday.

On the appointment for the minister post at the federal level, Fatimah said she was also happy when Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri who is the PBB Women vice president was appointed as the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister.

“Furthermore, is the appointment of one of the members that is Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib who has been given the post as Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs),” she said.

In addition, Fatimah said she was also proud to see that the PBB Senior Vice President Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has been appointed as the Senior Minister (Infrastructure Development) and Minister of Works; PBB secretary general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi as Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) and PBB Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar as the Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives.

“All these posts given are important. Therefore, we want to thank the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for appointing them,” she said.
