KUCHING: Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah supports Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s decision to extend the conditional movement control order (CMCO) until June 9.

The Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Child Development said the prime minister was doing the right thing to protect the people.

This included allowing almost all economic and social sectors to reopen in a controlled and orderly manner.

“Most importantly, enabling the hardest hit group to make a living and, at the same time, ensuring the new norm of emphasising social distancing, personal hygiene and no big crowd events to win the war against Covid-19,” she said in a press statement on Sunday.

Fatimah also supported the federal government’s decision to extend the appeal for Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) to May 31.

“This ensures the eligible target group can get the benefit.

“The needy need guidance and help to have access to the system. Thus, we should give them time,” she added.
