Dr Hazland receives his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine at Stadium Perpaduan Negeri, Petra Jaya.

KUCHING: People should not be afraid to receive the Covid-19 vaccine as it has gone through various tests and has been approved on the international level.

In saying so Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni pointed out that no problem had been reported thus far.

“Up until now, there have been no news or problems related to the Covid-19 vaccine,” he said after receiving his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine at Stadium Perpaduan Negeri, Petra Jaya today.

As such, he urged members of the public, especially those in his constituency to take the Covid-19 vaccine.

He emphasised that this was for the protection of themselves and others in an effort to break the chain of Covid-19 transmissions.

Earlier on Feb 26, along with the launch of the Sarawak Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg was the first in the state to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

As of now, several state leaders and elected representatives have been inoculated with the Covid-19 vaccine. This is considered essential as they are often on the ground carrying out their duties and serving the people.

The public is urged to register for the vaccine via the MySejahtera application. Alternatively, they can register at district offices, government health clinics or through their respective ketua masyarakat and ketua kaum (KMKK).
