MIRI: The federal government allocation of RM4.5 billion to Sarawak under the 2021 budget has evidenced that Perikatan Nasional (PN) led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin does not neglect Sarawak.

Assistant Minister for Women, Family and Childhood Development Datuk Rosey Yunus described the allocation as equitable, even though it is much less than the allocation given to Sabah.

“But, we (Sarawak) get other benefits in terms of mega projects being continued after Pakatan Harapan (PH) slashed those projects when they were the ruling government.

“They are now giving focus to Sarawak development and at the same caring for the people’s wellbeing here,” she said.

Citing on Pan Borneo Highway and allocation to conduct perimeter surveys for NCR land, Rosey pointed out that the federal government had allocated RM41 million under the 2021 budget for NCR land survey for Sabah and Sarawak.

Budget 2021 was passed at the policy stage on Thursday, after weeks of debate by the members of Parliament.
