Federal minister attends Malaysia Day meeting

SIBU: Federal Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah attended the 2020 Malaysia Day celebration steering committee meeting at Kingwood Hotel here on Tuesday (Sept 8).

Saifuddin chaired the meeting with Sarawak Minister of Utilities Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, who is also responsible for this year’s celebration.

The meeting discussed preparations for the celebration, which will be held on Sept 16, with committee members, consisting of departments and agencies at federal and state levels.

Also present were Sarawak Assistant Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research Dr Annuar Rapaee, Federal Communications and Multimedia Ministry general secretary Datuk Suriani Ahmad, and Sarawak Deputy State Secretary Datuk Ik Pahon Joyik.

The location of this year’s celebration is Sibu Indoor Stadium, with the theme ‘Malaysia Prihatin’.

He had a session with Sarawak history expert Datuk Dr Sanib Said and local music group At Adau live from TV1, Bernama TV and Astro Awani at 9pm, Monday.

Saifuddin departed from Sibu for Kuala Lumpur at 7.30pm on the same day.
