Federal Secretary calls on Masing

KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing received a courtesy call from the new Federal Secretary of Sarawak Datuk Amir Omar on Thursday (May 6).

During the courtesy call, Masing who is also the Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development and chairman of Sarawak Border Security Control Committee discussed on strengthening security at the Malaysia Indonesia border.

Other matters which were discussed include the planning for a Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) Rehabilitation Centre in Sarawak, border highway, the establishment of Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS) and Border Control Centre (Pusat Kawalan Sempadan) at Long Singut Baleh.

Amir took over as the Federal Secretary in April. He had served as secretary-general in the ministry of Human Resource.

Amir was accompanied by his deputy Norizan Jili during the courtesy call.
