KUCHING: A female motorcyclist died on the spot when her bike collided head on with a car at 7pm on Tuesday.
The deceased, Rosetta Bugek, aged 37, from Kampung Sg Agas, Mile 13, Matang Road here met with the accident near the Matang Wildlife Centre.
Rosetta who was married but had no children, used to sell food at a nearby stall and would ride her motorcycle back home every night, sources said.
According to the deceased’s sister-in-law who was at the scene, the deceased was from Song and moved to Kuching with her husband three years ago.
The 45-year-old driver of the car, a construction worker, said he was on his way to Kampung Rambungan when the deceased’s motorcycle drove into his vehicle leaving him with no time to stop.
Both the motorcycle and the car were badly damaged. The windscreen where the deceased slammed into was broken and there were remains of the deceased on it.
Sarawak General Hospital medical team arrived at the scene after being alerted and pronounced the victim died from head injuries.
The remains of the victim were handed over to the police at the scene for further action.
