MIRI: The wife of the Head of State Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib on Sunday brought Chinese New Year cheer to 38 underprivileged pupils of two Chinese primary schools here.

The two schools were Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Tukau Bakam and SJK Chung Hua Bakam.

The visits were part of Ragad’s ‘Jalinan Kasih’ programme held in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

During her brief visits to the schools, Ragad presented Chinese New Year gifts and “ang pow” (red envelopes containing cash) to the pupils.

She was joined by Women, Family and Childhood Development Assistant Minister Rosey Yunus, Sibuti assemblyman Lukanisman Awang Sauni, Lambir assemblyman Ripin Lamat and Miri Resident Mastapa Julaihi.
