Field hospital being set up in Miri

MIRI: The Mercy Malaysia Sarawak chapter field hospital, which is currently being set up at Miri Hospital’s parking lot nearby the emergency entrance, will be able to accommodate 66 Covid-19 patients under the Three and Four categories.

This is the second project being implemented by Mercy Malaysia Sarawak chapter after the setting up of a field hospital in Kuching.

Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) minister-in-charge Datuk Lee Kim Shin said the construction, which commenced on Oct 2, is expected to be completed within a week.

Lee was met yesterday (Oct 5) after inspecting the site. He was accompanied by Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong Siew Yu and Mercy Malaysia Sarawak chapter chairman Martin Jandom.

Also present were Miri DDMC chairman cum Miri Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf and acting Miri District Officer Siti Rohani Yusuf.
