Fifth suspect nabbed in Tenom

MIRI: The fifth suspect in a bullying incident here that went viral on social media on Monday has been arrested in Tenom, Sabah.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the suspect, 20, was detained after he surrendered himself at the Tenom police headquarters at 9.15am yesterday.

“A team of Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officers has been sent to bring the suspect back to Miri to assist in their investigation,” Lim disclosed.

Four other suspects were detained on July 15 and 16, including one who is a student of a secondary school here.

“The fifth suspect is unemployed,” added Lim.

The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting, which is punishable by a jail term of up to two years or a fine or both upon conviction.
