KUCHING: A supermarket at Mile 7 here caught fire last Saturday (Sept 19).
A distress call on the incident was received by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) at 11.10pm and firefighters of Batu Lintang and Tabuan Jaya Fire and Rescue Stations were deployed to the scene.
Upon arrival, thick smoke was seen coming out of the supermarket, as reported by operations commander PgKB I Henderi Ardimanshah.
The firefighters made their way into the premises and succeeded in putting out the fire in less than 10 minutes.
It was reported that the fire has caused 10 percent damages to the premises involving two counters and goods nearby.
No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
