BELAGA: Fire damaged a log-laden trailer and destroyed several of the logs along Jalan Bakun-Bintulu last night (Aug 21).
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the 8 pm incident near the Sungai Asap junction.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Belaga station were deployed to the scene after they were alerted to the incident.
On arrival, they found that the rear of the trailer was still on fire and the firemen proceeded with dousing the flames using water obtained from a nearby ditch.
Meanwhile, according to the police, the driver was said to have gone back to Bintulu after leaving the trailer at the scene.
