SIBU: A fire destroyed a vacant barrack at Kem Belia Kemuyang, Jalan Oya, here on Monday.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre received a distress call on the incident at 11.38pm and deployed nine firefighters, led by PBK II Shahrulnizam, of Sungai Merah Fire and Station and six Sibu firemen to the scene.
Upon arrival, the 30×70 square feet barrack was found to have been 90 percent destroyed.
