KUCHING: The Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) recently conducted a fire drill at its halfway home here.

It was organised in collaboration with the Batu Lintang Fire and Rescue Station.

The society disclosed that the purpose of the fire drill was to ensure families and staff emergency preparedness in the event of a fire.

“Besides that, the fire drill aims to raise awareness of fire safety among residents while improving the existing fire emergency plan in our halfway home,” it explained.

The society added that families and staff were also reminded of their roles and responsibilities, emergency routes, assembly points as well as fire safety measures to ensure a safe and quick response.

On a separate social media posting, the society said Oinks! is supporting Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by committing a donation of RM1 for the purchase of every pork nugget dish.

The promotion which is available at Oinks! in Kuching and Sibu outlets is valid until Oct 12.
