MIRI : A saloon situated in a first-floor shophouse in Marina Phase 2 caught fire last night (Nov 4).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said an emergency call was received at 9.02pm and firemen from the Miri Sentral fire station were deployed to the scene.
Upon arrival, the owner of the premise was at the scene and reported that no one was in the saloon.
The blaze broke out on the first floor and no injuries or casualties were reported. Firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control by around 10.50pm.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are yet to be ascertained.
