SIBU: Twelve individuals were rendered homeless after their rental house at Kampung Jariah here was gutted by a fire on Monday (Apr 5).
Firemen from Sibu and Sungai Merah fire stations responded to the emergency call on the 2.47pm incident.
Upon arrival, the double-storey house was already destroyed.
At the time of the incident, five of the 12 individuals were at home and they managed to get out to safety.
No casualty was reported, and the cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
