TANJUNG MANIS: A fire broke out on Saturday night here at Tanjung Manis Resources (TMR) factory.
According to the operations commander, the fire involved three main switch boards measuring four by three square feet with each providing electrical power to the machinery in the factory.
The switches were completely destroyed but the machines were unaffected.
Tanjung Manis Fire and Rescue Department despatched six firefighters headed by PBK II Awang Busrah to the location.
Five off-duty firefighters staying near the place were also called to duty.
The firefighters first cut off the electricity before extinguishing the fire. They completed their operations at 12.50am.
No casualties were reported and the cause of the fire and the loss incurred are being investigation.
