
SIBU: A six-door longhouse and a semi-detached house were destroyed in a fire at Jalan Tong Sang here, leaving 25 people homeless.

Sibu Sentral fire and rescue station chief, Suna Kaha in a statement today said they received a distress call at 9.15am and dispatched a team to the scene immediately.
However, the longhouse was destroyed completely while the house was left with its concrete structure.
He said a total of 25 people, including three elderly men, four elderly women; seven men and five women as well as six children lost their homes.
The operation was assisted by a team from Sungai Merah station and ended at 11.46am after the fire was put out.
