BEKENU:Seventeen people who are members of five families from Kampung Subak here were made homeless when two wooden houses were totally razed on the Monday night fire incident.

Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Head, Superintendent Low Poh Kong said they received a call at 7.36pm and seven personnel led by PBKII Thomas were dispatched at 7:37pm.

The house is totally destroyed by fire during the BOMBA arrival. One of the victims, a 67-year old man suffered burns on his back.  He was sent to Miri Hospital for further treatment.

The victims comprised eight adults, eight children and a four-month old baby.
