SIBU: Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) recently organised the Jalinan Kasih programme to help the fire victims of Rh Dingon Megong in Sekuau Settlement Scheme here.

The programme, which was one of LCDA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) 2020 initiatives, was jointly organised by Selangau District Office, Yayasan Sarawak, Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak, Sarawak Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority (Risda), Sibu Division Health Office and Area Development Committee (ADC) of Sekuau Resettlement Scheme.

According to a statement from LCDA, the fire victims were participants in the Nanga Sekuau agropolitan project managed by LCDA.

“The main objective of the programme is to apply the value of care to those in need through the help and assistance they need.

It also serves to foster closer relationships between agencies involved with the local community,” the statement said.

The programme started with a gotong-royong with the local people and later on, the distribution of donations to the fire victims by the agencies involved.
