MUKAH: Victims of Monday fire tragedy in Kampung Mateding near here on Tuesday received aid from Mukah Parliament and Balingian constituency Service Centres as well as other contributors.

They received aid such as food items, basic necessities and cash.

Mukah Parliament Service Centre officer Almahakim Norshidi who represented Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) and Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib handed over the aid to house owner, ketua kaum (KK) Sahari Morshidi at a simple ceremony in Kampung Mateding Kecil.

Special officer Che Ghazali Arbi, who represented Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi presented the aid from Balingian constituency Service Centre.

Sahari also received aid from Mukah Division Welfare Department, who was represented by its assistant officer Shahrill Eddyson Mohamad Hatta.

The other contributors were Tabung Baitulmal Mukah, Urusetia Saudara Kita (USK) Balingian, Bicycle Club and Skuad Sayang Balingian.

Acting deputy Mukah Division Resident and Mukah district officer Shafrie Saili, Penghulu Ahmad Mahmud Zakaria and representatives of other contributors also attended the event, which was organised by Mukah Division Disaster Management Committee.

Three families were left homeless when their double-storey semi-concrete houses were completely burnt in a fire that broke out about 9 am on Monday. All the victims were safe.
